To get the full experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer with a working camera, microphone, and speakers.

DEVICES — Computer or Laptop recommended. Tablets are not supported
CAMERA, MICROPHONE & SPEAKERS — Required
OPERATING SYSTEM* — Windows & IOS (latest version only)
BROWSERS* — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest version only)
BANDWIDTH — Optimal performance will come with at least 350kb/s dedicated bandwidth
HEADPHONES — recommended but optional

Make it easy for people to find, follow and book you, by optimizing your avatar in advance

Optimize your profile by clicking on the circle you’ll find in the top right-hand corner of your screen with your initials on it, in our showroom or when you are in an event. Click on “Edit My Profile”, upload your photo (<500kb) and fill in all the blanks. The information will be there every time you network with us. You will be asked for:

  • Name
  • Headline
  • Job Title
  • Company
  • Facebook Page
  • LinkedIn Page
  • Meeting Scheduler URL

If you experience any difficulties, click on the ? icon, then ask or search for answers.

Slower Computer or Spotty Internet?

  • HARD-WIRE your internet if you can rather than WIFI
  • REBOOT your computer before the event
  • CLOSE ALL TABS you’re not using and anything else that might be using your internet
  • CLOSE ALL MEMORY-INTENSIVE PROGRAMS (especially in Windows 10) like video apps

How To Attend An Event on World Event Center

  • Click on the event link
  • Click the “SAVE ME A SPOT” or “JOIN EVENT NOW” button
  • LOG IN or CREATE AN ACCOUNT.
    • If you don’t already have an account, click on LOG IN and enter:
      • your name
      • email address
      • password (six characters minimum)
    • If you already have an account, click on CREATE AN ACCOUNT and:
      • enter email address
      • click the CONTINUE button
      • enter password(six characters minimum)
  • When event time arrives, the countdown stops (you might have to refresh screen)
  • Click the JOIN EVENT NOW  button
  • The system tester/troubleshooter will help you ensure your camera, mic and speakers are working and authorized
  • Click through the tutorial which will explain how to use world event center (as will the following video).

How to Use World Event Center

PRESENTATION MODE

When you enter an event that’s in presentaton mode you will see the performer’s video(s), shared screen(s) and video(s) filling your screen. Presenters will not be able see you, as guest cameras and microphone are turned off in this mode, but you will be able to RAISE YOUR HAND button at bottom of the screen to get the attention

World Event Center - Presentation Mode

You will see three tabs to the right of your screen:

  • CHAT — There are three ways you can chat:
    • GENERAL CHAT: Visible to all guests
    • TABLE CHAT: Visible to only members in your current table
    • PRIVATE CHAT: Direct message to specific guests you can search using the search bar
  • PARTICIPANTS — Click on this tab to see/search for who’s attending with you. You can click on the ‘I’ icon beside their name to learn more about them
  • Q&A — If you have questions for the presenter, click on this tab and either:
    • UPVOTE the question if someone’s already asked your question
    • ADD your question. You can do this anomymously if you’d like.

CONVERSATION MODE

This is what you’ll see when you enter in an event in conversation mode:

World Event Center

TURN MICROPHONE AND CAMERA ON

  •  Remember for a truly interactive experience, please turn on your mic and camera using the buttons provided in the menu on the bottom of your screen.

TURN ON CHAT

  • Click on the chat button in the menu on the bottom of your screen
  • Select one of the three chat options
    • GENERAL CHAT: Visible to all guests
    • TABLE CHAT: Visible to only members in your current table
    • PRIVATE CHAT: Direct message to specific guests you can search using the search bar

MOVING AROUND FREELY

  • You will randomly added to a table but you are free to move around as you please
  • To change tables, double click on the table you wish to join. If table is full, you’ll receive a warning to that effect.
  • You can navigate between floors using the elevator dial on the left side of your screen. Navigation only appears if there are multiple floors and you can see how many guests are on the particular floor hover your cursor over the floor button

SHARE YOUR SCREEN WITH OTHERS

  • Click on the share screen button in the menu at the bottom of your screen oppress alt + S
  • Select what you want to share your entire screen a specific application or an individual browser tab
  • Hit the blue share button

BILLBOARDS

  • The left billboard typically displays a video. Click on the play button to start playing the video and click on the maximize button to make the video full screen
  • The right billboard typically displays text e.g. an agenda. When you mouse over it, it will enlarge so you can read everything written on it.
  • If Video tiles are covering your view of the billboards you can rotate your mouse wheel or pinch your trackpad to zoom in/out alternatively you can scroll all around by clicking anywhere on the map and dragging it

LEAVING AN EVENT

To leave the event just click on quit event in the bottom toolbar.

During an Event

If at any point during the event you experienced difficulties please click on the question mark icon at the bottom left corner of your screen to access FAQ and live support, or ask an Event Manager. You can identify Event Managers because they have a star on their avatar.

Getting into an Event

If you’re struggling to get into an event, please call World Event Center at 1-800-579-9253 and leave a detailed message for the on call event producer. There is always an event producer on call when our virtual venue is being rented.
